Signal Work Causes Lane Closures

Traffic signal work by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada will necessitate additional roadwork this week at the north end of the Strip, resulting in lane closures.

Road construction will occur on the north half of the intersection at Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avenue beginning Aug. 31 through at least Sept. 1.

The road construction will result in travel lane closures on both Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. One lane in each direction on both streets will be maintained while the work is being done at the intersection.

This project will upgrade the intelligent transportation system, including traffic signals, along Las Vegas Boulevard, improving travel for both cars and transit operations.

While work is taking place, drivers should take precautions and allow extra time when traveling through the impacted area. The project will not impact transit operations on Las Vegas Boulevard.
