'The Golden Age of Glam' Brings Historic Photos to The Cosmopolitan

Some of the most iconic and interesting photos from Las Vegas past are on display at The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas. 

When Tempest Storm went into the striptease business, she vowed to do a classy act. While taking off her clothers, she was backed up by a full stage production with show boys and choreographed dances. Those days are gone, but history buffs can get a glimpse of Storm's Las Vegas in "The Golden Age of Glam" at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.

Women can find enjoy free spa services Tuesday afternoon at Rio Hotel & Casino, thanks to the resort and a skin care company.

For the third consecutive year, the resort teams up with skin care company Dermalogica to support women in business. Complimentary treatments will be offered between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m., as well as discounts on select products and services to benefit Dermalogica’s joinFITE initiative.

Guests will receive a complimentary mini-facial along with a “Give a Hand Up” MicroZone treatment and Dermalogica’s Face Mapping skin analysis. A 25-percent discount will be available on all skin care services and Dermalogica products, and $1 from each product purchased at the spa will benefit the FITE organization. JoinFITE (Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship) is an international initiative launched by Dermalogica that supports women entrepreneurs worldwide.

Cosmetology School Hosts Fundraiser for St. Jude's

The students of James Albert School of Cosmetology will host a charity fundraiser for St. Jude’s Ranch in Boulder City on April 29 and 30.

Haircuts, manicures, pedicures and eyebrow waxing will cost $5 per service. Hair color will be $10. All proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s Ranch.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
