CSI: The Experience and United Blood Services are Co-Hosting a Blood Drive March 26

Here in Southern Nevada, more than 250 blood donors are needed every day to meet the needs of the local hospitals. To encourage donations from the Las Vegas Community, CSI: The Experience is partnering with united Blood Services to co-host a blood drive at the MGM Grand on March 26th from10am to 3pm. All Blood Donors who donate at this event will be given a free ticket to visit CSI: The Experience!

“We hope that this partnership will help encourage the community to donate,” says Jeff Pluth, General Manager of CSI: The Experience. “In return, donors will be given an opportunity to play the role of crime scene investigator as they crack the case in our fascinating and interactive exhibit.”

Commissioner Scow to host District G Meeting March 23rd

On Wednesday March 23rd, Commissioner Scow will be hosting the first of Multiple meeting for residents of Las Vegas District G. This meeting will be held at the Cora Coleman Senior Center, 2100 Bonnie Lane, and will iclude representatives of the Metroploitian Police, Public Works, Development Services, and Park Police. The meeting will take place at 6pm.

"Scale the Strat" this Weekend!

One of Las Vegas's more exciting charity events takes place this weekend- the American Lung Association's "Scale the Strat"! During this event, teams and individuals will be competing to scale the stratosphere tower, with is 108 floors and 1455 steps! The challenge starts on Saturday with a qualifying round, with the top 50 teams  moving on to Sunday's Climb Off! Street Food Throwdown- Battle Royale with Cheese!

This Sunday, three street food trucks, Slidin' Thru, Fuku Burger, and LBS Patty Wagon will be having a showdown to determine which truck can claim ultimate burger supremacy here in Las Vegas! The throwdown will be happening outside of Studio 21 Tattoo Gallery, 6020 W Flamingo Rd, and will run from 6pm to 10pm. Come cheer on your favorite!

The Arts District Kicks Off Mural Painting Project Tonight!

This First Friday, the 18b Las Vegas Arts District will be the site of a new project kick-off, the “Pop2 Cultural Art Center Mural Program”. More than 50 urban artists from New York City, San Francisco, San Bernardino, New Jersey and Las Vegas will be there, all simultaneously painting murals throughout the arts district. People will be able to watch the artists at work throughout the evening and learn more about urban culture. There will also be an coordinating exhibit, "Midnight Marauders" open at the Arts Factory. 

Events run from 6pm to 10pm tonight, March 4th. Artists will be working throughout the 18b Arts Disctrict, and the Arts Factory is located at 101 E. Chesterton Blvd.

Tarkanian Basketball Acadamy Hosts Skills Competition

Tomorrow morning, Tarkanian Basketball Academy is encouraging Las Vegas to bring their A-game to a free basketball skills competition! This family oriented event will feature a variety of competitions, including an obstacle course, Shooting spots, Hot Shot, dribbling, a 3-point contest and the crowd pleasing Slam Dunk contest! There will be prizes along with games for all ages and food.

Las Vegas Will Go Bald for The St. Baldrick’s Foundation March 5th!

This Saturday, March 5th marks the annual head shaving fundraiser for the St. Baldrick's foundation, an event that started with an attempt to raise $1,000 for childhood cancer research, and has ballooned into a huge event. Over 300 southern Nevadans have signed up to shave their heads on Saturday, and have formed highly competitive teams looking to raise the most in donations. Participants include everyone from celebrities to cancer survivors to teens.
