Free Combine 360 Testing for Las Vegas High School Football Athletes March 13th

Local High School Football Players will be given the opportunity to participate in a free Combine Training event this weekend. Combine training is a way of evaluating athletes and used as a standard for improved performance, using feedback on the results to help an athlete reach a new level.

For people interested in registering to participate in the training, please visit www.combine360/combine360/event/59. The event will take pace at the Valley High School Football Field, 2839 S. Burnham Ave Las Vegas, NV 89169 this Saturday, March 13th from 9am to 1pm.

Several local businesses have joined forces to cover the cost of the testing, which runs $99/per person, for up to 150 students. So thank you to The Fitness Source, Southern Fidelity, Terrible Herbst, Buddah Balm, and Strauss Law, who provided this opportunity to the students.

“Convene For Green” (CFG) Summit March 10th at Springs Preserve

Green Chips and the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition are hosting the "Convene For Green" summit this Thursday at the Springs Reserve. At the summit, the groups will be launching their new sustainability road map and declaration for southern Nevada. The map represents a year of work and collaboration, and looks at social, economic, and environmental sustainability. The Summit begins at 8am and concludes with Mayor Goodman signing the declaration at 4pm.

Benefit for Wine to Water on March 22nd

On March 22nd, Wine to Water, a non-profit that strives to provide clean water and sanitation to countries around the world, will be teaming up with the Hard Rock Cafe for an evening of music and entertainment. The event will run from 7pm to 9pm and will be hosted on the event space on the third floor of the Hard Rock.

Tickets for the evening will be $25, and includes appetizers. Proceeds will go to benefit the Wine to Water Projects around the world. For tickets, visit www.worldroc.org.

Free Boat Show March 18th-27th at Bass Pro Shops

From March 18th- 27th, the Bass Pro Shops will be hosting a free boat show at their 8200 Dean Martin Drive location. There will be free boating and fishing seminars, discussing topics such as “Do-It-Yourself  Service” Saturdays at 1pm, “Local Fishing Tips” Saturdays at 2pm and “Using the Latest Electronics” Saturdays at 3pm. Pro Angler Gene Ellison March will also be on hand March 19th and 20th to provide tips of the trade. Kids can join in the fun with casting games and a wiggle fish craft project. Attendees will also be entered in a raffle for prizes like gift cards and a 12' Jon Boat.

Tweet for a Cause at Aid for AIDS of Nevada Tweetup, March 14

The Blue Martini's Manic Mondaze on March 14th with be the site of Aid of AIDS of Nevada's Tweetup for a Cause. Attendees are encouraged to tweet about their evening using twitter handle @AFANLV and hashtag #AFANCharityHr. The event runs from 8pm to 10pm, and for a $20 donation participants will get unlimited specialty vodka cocktails and beer during those two hours. All proceeds will go to AFAN.
