Hash House A Go Go Hosts its Third Annual Corned Beef Eating Contest

On Thursday, March 17th, 8 Las Vegas Residents will be part of the St. Patrick's Day Festivities by taking part in the corned beef eating contest. People are welcome to come and cheer people on as they try to finish 1.5 pounds of corned beef and a 1/4 cabbage in 15 minutes. Whomever finished first, of finishes the most, will be the winner.

For those who are not competeting but still would like to celebrate, the restaurant will feature Irish-themed food and drink specials throughout the day including a special St. Patrick’s Day Lucky Charms pancake, stuffed corned beef sandwich, Irish coffee, Irish Snake Bite and several others. Happy hour at the Sahara location will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring $2 green beer and complimentary mini Hash House corned beef sandwiches and homemade potato chips. The first 50 people to arrive for happy hour will receive their first beer free.

Calling all Classic car buffs! This Sunday, the Injured Police Officers' Fund will be hosting their fourth annual car show. The event will take place at Sunset Park, 2601 East Sunset Road Las Vegas, NV 89120, from 10am to 4pm on Sunday March 20th, with proceeds going to benefit the IPOF's Down Officer Fund.

As another desert afternoon fades to night, an unusual throng is building at Las Vegas’s Caesars Palace, vibrating the plaster columns of the porte-cochère. There are white-haired executives flanked by publicity personnel; camera-toting tourists jostling with hundreds of off-duty hotel employees; and, naturally, a man dressed as Caesar himself, complete with a phalanx of rent-a-centurions decked in bronze and red feathers. At last, a black Escalade draws up, and Celine Dion, the shimmering French-Canadian headliner, steps onto a rose-strewn red carpet.

"Good Games" Skate Event at Winchester Cultural Center Saturday March 19

This Saturday, the Winchester Cultural Skateboarding program presents their signature event, the "Good Games"! The Games are a skateboard contest, youth culture showcase, and an education/crime prevention/nutrition fair. The highlight of the evening is the stake Contest, which will take place on a wooden course to be build in the basketball courts, featuring several divisions for Intermediate, Advanced, Open/Sponsored Am, and Masters. The cost for entering the skate contest is $5.

Throughout the evening there will also be a number of free events, including live music, skateboard demonstrations, dancing, and information about a number of local colleges. A free raffle with prizes such as MP3 players, skateboards, and stake equipment will also be taking place throughout the evening.

The "Good Games" will take place on Saturday March 19th from 10am to 4pm at the Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S McLeod Drive, Las Vegas

Special Olympics Nevada hosts a FLAG FOOTBALL CLINIC March 12

This Saturday, Special Olympics Nevada will be presenting a free flag football clinic, open to all Special Olympic Athletes and special needs individuals. The clinic is being put on with the help of Matt Petit, a local Eagle Scout Candidate, and will feature UNLV Football players as well as players from local high schools helping teach the basics of flag football. Coach Jim Fassel will be leading the clinic, which is set to conclude with a game, special needs athletes on teams with their non-disabled partners.

The clinic will run from 3pm until 5pm at Thurman White Middle School, 1661 Galleria Drive in Henderson, Nevada. for those interested in attending, please RSVP to Melva at 702-474-0690, ext 201, by this Friday, March 11th.

The Third Annual Knight Rider Festival will roar into town March 18th- 19th. The focus of this year's festival is going to be the stuntmen who made K.I.T.T. do all the astonishing stunts! The festival will benefit the Children's Miracle Network.
