Artist Ruel James to Open Local Gallery

Artist and sculptor Ruel James will open a gallery at a Friday night ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The Ruel James Gallery is located at 2121 Industrial Rd., Suite 215, in Las Vegas. James will be joined by entertainer Tony Sacca at the event, which begins at 6 p.m.

James just completed a major project for The Las Vegas Mob Experience at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in which he created eight sculptures of famous mob figures including Bugsy Siegel, Sam Giancana, Meyer Lansky, Tony Spilotro, Mickey Cohen, Lefty Rosenthal, Lucky Luciano and Frank Costello. He also created a Reverse-Mold of each head and the sculptures’ eyes actually follow you wherever you go. The effect is not mechanical; it’s just a special technique that James created.

Proceeds of the silent auction and sales will benefit the Las Vegas Valley Humane Society.
