Plans for New Year's Party Announced

Las Vegas is one of the top places in the world to ring in the New Year.

Plans for America's Party 2013 were announced Thursday by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, the city of Las Vegas and Fireworks by Grucci.

This year, seven places along the Strip will shoot fireworks off from their rooftop, including Planet Hollywood, Aria, Caesars Palace, the Venetian, MGM Grand, Treasure Island and Stratopshere.

The traditional song, "Auld Lang Syne", will start the show. It will then turn to more up-to-date and upbeat songs from Flo Rida and Pink.

"They walk away energized, excited going into 2013 with a new outlook on what the future is going to be." President of Fireworks by Grucci Phil Grucci said.

About 60 members of the Grucci team will arrive in Las Vegas December 27 to start setting up the fireworks. The family-owned business has developed 32,000 different firework displays, so it is unlikely people will see the same display twice.
