UPDATE: Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run, Sahara reopens after 6-hour closure

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- Police have reopened all lanes of Sahara Avenue between Torrey Pines Drive and Jones Road following a hit-and-run crash that left a man in his 50s dead.

The crash was reported around 1:50 a.m. The lanes were fully reopened by 8 a.m.

According to Metro Police Lt. David Gordon, a driver traveling eastbound on Sahara struck the pedestrian who was possibly sitting or lying in the roadway at the intersection of El Camino Road. The driver failed to stop and continued to drive eastbound. The pedestrian died at the scene.

The pedestrian's death marks the 112th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction since the beginning of the year.

At this time, police have no information to release hit-and-run suspect's vehicle.
