Major Changes Coming to I-15 Commute

Major Changes Coming to I-15 Commute

Get ready for another major change in the traffic flow on I-15.

As part of the I-15 Design Build South project, the I-15 southbound access road south of Tropicana Avenue will open on the morning of March 14.

One of the most critical changes is the access to CC-215 westbound from I-15 southbound. To make this connection, motorists must enter the access road just south of Tropicana Avenue.

The access road will mean the following changes for drivers:

Dean Martin Drive Closed Friday Night

Dean Martin Drive Closed Friday Night

Railroad work related to the ongoing I-15 Design-Build South project will close Dean Martin Drive on Friday night.

The street will be closed between West Patrick Lane and West Post Road from 6 p.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Saturday for modification of the railroad signals. After the weekend’s work, there will be one lane in each direction both on the southbound side of Dean Martin Drive at the railroad through June 1.

Some backstreets used by locals to get into Strip properties are now closed while Caesars Entertainment constructs The LINQ.

The LINQ will be an entertainment and retail space between the Flamingo and Imperial Palace. The corridor is set to be finished in 2013. The road closures include Ida Avenue between Audrie Street and Koval Lane. Winnick Avenue between Audrie and Koval will also be closed. Plus, Audrie Street north of Albert Avenue will be closed.

The employee pickup and dropoff areas for Flamingo Las Vegas, Imperial Palace and Harrah’s Las Vegas will not be affected. People trying to get to the properties from rear entrances may need to find an alternate route.

Signal Work Causes Lane Closures

Signal Work Causes Lane Closures

Traffic signal work by the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada will necessitate additional roadwork this week at the north end of the Strip, resulting in lane closures.

Road construction will occur on the north half of the intersection at Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avenue beginning Aug. 31 through at least Sept. 1.

The road construction will result in travel lane closures on both Las Vegas Boulevard and Sahara Avenue from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. One lane in each direction on both streets will be maintained while the work is being done at the intersection.

Pedestrian bridge work will close traffic on Harmon Avenue late Wednesday night.

Harmon Avenue will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday to approximately 5 a.m. Thursday, to continue work on the newly erected Harmon pedestrian bridge.

Work crews are doing welding work on the deck of the new pedestrian bridge, which spans Harmon Avenue near the Strip, and will pour concrete during the evening and overnight hours. While work is under way, about 300 feet of Harmon Avenue will be closed east of Las Vegas Boulevard and west of the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Miracle Mile Shops.
