Another weekend of detours and delays is on the way for the I-15 Design-Build South Project.

The traffic effects are as follows:

Linq Construction Closes Alleyway

Linq Construction Closes Alleyway

The alleyway behind the Flamingo, Imperial Palace, Harrah’s and Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon that many locals use as an easy way to get to those properties is now closed.

The alleyway runs north and south. It is closed while Caesars Entertainment works on the $500 million Linq project. Linq is a new entertainment district being built where the O’Sheas Casino once stood.

To get into Harrah’s and Imperial Palace, drivers can use the road behind the Venetian and Harrah’s with access off Spring Mountain Road. Drivers can access Bill’s and the Flamingo from Flamingo Road or Koval Lane.

Linq is expected to be finished in a year and half.

As part of the Design-Build South project, southbound I-15 will be closed from Russell Road to the 215 interchange for installation of the new railroad bridge over the freeway.

All southbound I-15 traffic will be routed off at Russell Road from 10 p.m. Friday through approximately 5 p.m. Sunday. The ramps from Flamingo Road, Tropicana Boulevard and Russell Road to southbound I-15, the southbound access roads and Dean Martin Dr. at the railroad will also be closed. Strip Closures Upcoming for MGM Renovations

Strip Closures Upcoming for MGM Renovations

MGM Grand’s renovation project will cause traffic headaches on the Strip next week.

Drivers can expect lane closures and overnight traffic delays near the intersection of Tropicana and Las Vegas Boulevard South starting late Sunday night and is expected to last only three to five days.

The closures will accommodate construction crews erecting a 140-foot crane needed for the ongoing renovation work at MGM Grand. Two lanes of Tropicana Avenue, just east of the Strip in front of MGM Grand, will be closed to accommodate construction equipment for the three to five days it will take to build the crane. The crane will remain on site through the summer months.
