A retail giant is pulling one of its stores from the Fashion Show Mall on the Las Vegas Strip.
Macy's announced Thursday that it is closing six stores around the country including the Bloomingdale's Home Store at the Fashion Show Mall.
The clearance sale for the store starts Sunday and is expected to last several weeks. The retailer is closing the store because of poor sales performance.
The store opened in 2002 and employs 35 associates. The company says it will offer employees positions in nearby stores.
Despite the closing of Bloomingdales, Macy's is expanding its presence at Fashion Show with the addition of the Macy's Men's Store. The 105,000-square-foot store will open later this spring. The company is also remodeling its main store at the mall.
A new Macy's store will be built at the Shops in Summerlin, which is expected to be finished in the fall of next year. The store is expected to be 180,000 square feet and employee 160 associates.
