Dine Out Today to Benefit Children

Dine Out Today to Benefit Children

Eat out for a good cause today on International Children’s Day, as 13 local restaurants help mark the occasion.

They will participate in the Building Champions against the Odds Campaign to benefit Nevada Children’s Center (NCC) and commemorate International Children’s Day. Nevada Children’s Center takes part in the global commemoration of children though the Campaign.

These area restaurants have pledged to donate between 10-20 percent of revenue to Nevada Children’s Center, but you must bring a flyer available at www.nccenter.org with you to qualify for the donation.

The Campaign will help NCC in its mission to empower young victims of abuse, neglect, and mental afflictions by providing therapeutic day treatment, behavior modification, and in-home parenting resources in partnership with foster care and child protective advocates and agencies.

Let’s TWIST Again, Around the Pride of Glenmorangie

Let’s TWIST Again, Around the Pride of Glenmorangie

Restaurant Critic John Curtis says strip eatery pleases with eclectic menu.

Is Twist the best restaurant in town? It certainly is the most interesting on any given night.  Everything about the place seems designed to make your senses pop as you partake of Chef-Proprietaire Pierre Gagnaire and Chef de Cuisine Pascal Sanchez’s extraordinary cuisine. That cuisine both soothing and challenging, familiar and cerebral — no easy feat — and it leaves everyone from seasoned gastronomes to neophyte noshers scratching their heads in wonder and patting their tummies in satisfaction.

Spring Asparagus Salad at TABLE 10

Spring Asparagus Salad at TABLE 10

Clock is ticking for springtime salad being served now at a Strip restaurant.

Eat this now! And by now we mean NOW! Because, as you may know, the Spring growing season for white asparagus is extremely short, and Executive Chef Sean Roe tells us these will only be around for a few weeks.

Lunch at Country Club Grill

Lunch at Country Club Grill

Lunch fare is extraordinary at strip grill.

To where does one repair for lunch after drinking extremely rare, vintage champagnes all morning? Why, to a table for one at the very same Country Club Grill where he started quaffing the over-the-top wines at 10:00 am, of course!

FIRST – Sammy D’s Got The Goods

FIRST – Sammy D’s Got The Goods

Strip eatery provides updates on standard American fare.

Those of us who have been reporting on Las Vegas restaurants since the 1990s ... and that us would be ELV exclusively…fondly remember a restaurant called Sam’s American when it first opened at the opening of the Bellagio in October 1998. Boasting a decor that was positively Flintstone-ian, along with a wacky, way-before-its-time menu of upgraded bar food and American classics, it was a forerunner of every gourmet sliders/upscale bar food joint that succeeded it over the next ten years.
