Country Superstars Announce Las Vegas Show
News

LAS VEGAS -- A country music power couple is set to take the stage in Las Vegas by the end of the year.

Tuesday morning, country superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill announced a 10-weekend long engagement inside The Venetian theatre which seats 1,800.

They are the most recent in a string of high-profile stars changing the Las Vegas entertainment scene.

"People come from all over the world to Vegas," country music star Faith Hill said.

Hill and Tim McGraw promise they will give the audiences a unique show.

"We will certainly give the fans what they want," Hill said.

The couple will be performing together for the first time in six years on select weekends in Las Vegas. The shows start in December.

"We've never been able to do this in this kind of environment," McGraw added.

The couple has dominated the music scene since the early 1990s. Venetian representatives hope the pair will be the latest, in a string of high-profile acts, to drive tourists back into casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.

"Are you kidding me? It's Tim and Faith," Venetian CEO John Caparella said.

Artists such as Cher, Elton John, Shania Twain and Garth Brooks, who has had major success with an intimate, acoustic-type show at the Wynn, have worked to change the Las Vegas music scene.

"It's not the same Vegas that it used to be in terms of entertainment," McGraw said.

The couple, and Venetian representatives, aren't sure if the show will extend beyond the planned 10 weekends. Ticket prices will start at $95.
