Las Vegas Blvd. Reopens After Condo Fire
News

LAS VEGAS -- Southbound lanes on Las Vegas Boulevard were closed about 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon because of a kitchen fire inside Sky Las Vegas, according to the Clark County Fire Department.

Fire trucks were blocking the lanes for about an hour, forcing the closure. One lane has since reopened. All southbound lanes are expected to be reopened by 7 p.m.

Sky Las Vegas, 2700 S. Las Vegas Blvd. is a condominium building just south of Sahara Avenue and across the street from the Riviera.

An unattended stove sparked the fire. It was contained to one unit on the 33rd floor, but the 32nd and 33rd floors were temporarily evacuated.

No injuries were reported. Damages are estimated at $140,000.
