Fans Angry over Bradley Win, Judge Defends Decision
News

LAS VEGAS -- The most stunning decision in boxing created a firestorm of controversy when two judges scored Saturday's title fight for underdog Tim Bradley Jr. Most fans at the arena, and around the world, watching on HBO scored the fight for 8-division champion Manny Pacquiao.

Many had the Filipino champion winning by a lop-sided score. Top Rank President Bob Arum said, "How do you explain it to anybody. It's absurd."

Bradley said, "There are three judges out there, that's the way they judged it, so what do you want me to do?" Bradley was a 4-to-1 underdog, and Pacquiao says he respects the decision but believes he won the fight. "I give him credit for three rounds, but aside from three rounds, every round I hurt him," Pacquiao said.

Judge Duane Ford, who scored the win for Bradley said, "I honestly in what I saw and I was comfortable with my score in the arena." He said he not comfortable with the criticism. "If this was American Idol, Pacquiao would've won because the public wanted him to win and on American Idol the three judges are unpopular sometimes, and we were unpopular." Ford said he gave his honest opinion.
