Elton John Sick, Cancels Weekend Performances | News
Representatives for Elton John say performances for his show, "The Million Dollar Piano" have been cancelled.
The following dates have been called off: Thursday, May 24; Saturday, May 25 and Sunday, May 27.
Elton John developed a serious respiratory infection last weekend while performing at The Colosseum.
This week the condition worsened, resulting in Elton being hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles at 6:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23. Physicians are recommending that Elton does not perform any concerts for approximately seven days, getting complete rest and antibiotic treatment to cure his respiratory infection and prevent any damage.
Sir Elton John is very disappointed he is unable to perform the remaining three concerts this week of "The Million Dollar Piano" at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
"It feels strange not to be able to perform these ‘Million Dollar Piano' concerts at The Colosseum," said Elton. "I love performing this show and I will be thrilled when we return to The Colosseum in October to complete the eleven concerts soon to be scheduled. All I can say to the fans is sorry I can't be with you. I hope to see you soon at this wonderful theatre at Caesars Palace."
The Colosseum at Caesars Palace apologizes for any inconvenience the cancellations may cause ticket holders.
Ticket holders for the cancelled performance may exchange or refund their tickets at the original point of purchase.
