Free Show Tickets for People Who Get Tested for HIV/AIDS

A southern Nevada nonprofit, a new production on the Las Vegas Strip and the Gay and Lesbian Community Center is encouraging everyone to know their HIV status by offering free tickets for those who get tested.

Golden Rainbow has partnered with "Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical" and the Gay and Lesbian Center to promote National HIV Testing Awareness Day Thursday.

People who participate in the center's free HIV testing will get one complimentary ticket to Golden Rainbow's "Ribbon of Life" spectacular at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts Sunday, or a complimentary ticket to "Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical" at the Venetian Las Vegas.

Testing at the center located at 401 South Maryland Parkway will be from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Southern Nevada Health District is also offering free rapid HIV testing at its Sexual Health Clinic, 400 Shadow Lane, Suite 106.

According to the health district, more than 9,800 people in Clark County have been diagnosed with HIV and/or AIDS.
