Refurbished Rooms On Tap at Flamingo

One of the Strip’s ‘old guard’ hotels will overhaul thousands of its guest rooms.

Flamingo Las Vegas has announced plans to refurbish 2,307 hotel rooms, with availability in them beginning January 2, 2012. Rooms start at $85 per night.

According to property officials, modern décor will encounter elements of simple luxury with splashes of signature Flamingo pink and warm, wood-toned furnishings and flooring designed to create a residential feel. Contemporary chaise lounges, patterned rugs and vintage Vegas framed artwork will create a stylish appeal while upgraded beds with ultra-soft pillow-top mattresses, plush linens and faux fur throws offer ultimate comfort. The rooms will also come equipped with 32-inch flat screen plasma televisions.

Designed by Las Vegas-based firm Westar Architects, the refurbishment is currently under way. The first 500 rooms will be available Jan. 2 with plans to complete approximately 100 rooms every 11 days. Completion of the rooms is planned for late 2012 and will conclude the final phase of standard room upgrades.
