Town Square Restaurants Supporting Kids With Cancer in September

Several Town Square restaurants are showing their philanthropic side this September by partnering with Cure 4 The Kids Foundation and offering a way for the public to support Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

A portion of sales from various items on the menus will go to Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization that funds the Children's Specialty Center. It is the only nonprofit pediatric cancer outpatient treatment center in the state of Nevada.

Unfortunately, families throughout southern Nevada learn everyday that cancer is a life-changing event.  Many will also learn that the health insurance they thought would cover their children's diagnosis doesn't begin to address all of their needs. Those without any health insurance will see their options for treatment severely limited.

Celebrity chefs from around the globe call Las Vegas home, but the city’s food profile will take on a distinctly different look this fall.

Bally’s, Paris and Caesars Palace will partner to host the World Food Championships from Nov. 1-4.

The four-day food festival and cooking competition will be hosted by Adam Richman of Travel Channel fame. Much of the activity will take place at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road, with the hotels playing home to a number of other events.

With a total prize pot of $300,000, the World Food Championships will feature seven categories:

Aretha Franklin to Perform at Caesars Palace

The “Queen of Soul” will take over The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for a night this summer.

Aretha Franklin hits the stage at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15., and will be joined by special guest Jonathan Slocumb. The show is jointly presented by Caesars Palace and AEG Live.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday morning and can be purchased through Caesars Palace (www.thecolosseum.com) or through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com.) You also can call 1-800-745-3000. Ticketmaster orders are subject to additional fees.

Ticket prices are $49.50, $79.50, $99.50 and $155.00, and all prices include 10 percent state Live Entertainment Tax.
