Aretha Franklin to Perform at Caesars Palace

The “Queen of Soul” will take over The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for a night this summer.

Aretha Franklin hits the stage at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 15., and will be joined by special guest Jonathan Slocumb. The show is jointly presented by Caesars Palace and AEG Live.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday morning and can be purchased through Caesars Palace (www.thecolosseum.com) or through Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com.) You also can call 1-800-745-3000. Ticketmaster orders are subject to additional fees.

Ticket prices are $49.50, $79.50, $99.50 and $155.00, and all prices include 10 percent state Live Entertainment Tax.

In 2009, Aretha Franklin was named the #1 Vocalist of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine. She is a 2005 recipient of a Presidential Medal of Freedom honor (the U.S.A.'s highest honor), a Kennedy Center Honor, the American National Medal of the Arts Award, 18 GRAMMY® Awards including Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for eight consecutive years, a GRAMMY Legend Award, a GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Award, and five American Music Awards.  In 1987, she was the first woman inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 1979, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
