MGM Resorts International announced Wednesday that it is giving more money to a program that helps veterans transition into the civilian workforce.

The Boots to Business program is run through the American Red Cross and finds veterans to enter MGM Resort’s management-training program.

“This isn't charity. They're not doing this for publicity. The MGM and American Red Cross are really passionate about this program. I'm only one of four or five that completed this last round of Boots to Business and each one of us had a similar story. When we walked into this company, we were welcomed with open arms,” recent graduate of the program and 26-year veteran of the Air Force Wilson Edgell said.

The resort company’s grant of $250,000 will allow even more former members of the military make the jump to a civilian job.

The company also signed the employer support of the National Guard and Reservists, which formalizes its support for employees who are active in those branches.
