LAS VEGAS -- A Las Vegas man is facing a murder charge after police say he shot a man, left him to die and then dumped his body in a desert lot.

Police received an anonymous tip Thursday that there was a body in a field along west Philadelphia Street, near the Stratosphere Casino. When officers responded, the found the body in a shallow hole wrapped in plastic.

Police called in cadaver dogs to canvass the area. The dogs led them to an apartment where they found and arrested Leonard Saint Peters.

According to the police report, St. Peters admitted he shot the man, who has not been identified, after letting him into his apartment to get food. St. Peters told police he left the man in his apartment for six days before disposing of him.
