Police Arrest Two People for Three Robberies

Metro Police arrested two men connected to three different bank robberies in southern Nevada in the past two days.

The first robbery happened on Wednesday, August 3 at a bank branch at Russell Road and Tenaya Way. The second one happened near Sahara Avenue and Maryland Parkway on Thursday. The third also happened on Thursday at a bank at Las Vegas Boulevard and Clark Street.

In all three robberies one suspect walked into the bank, waited in line to be called by the teller, gave the teller a note demanding money and then walked out with the cash. In two of the robberies the suspect indicated to the teller that he had a gun.

It was just minutes after that third robbery that police arrested the two suspects. Police identified them as Patrick Montalvo, 19 and Darren Dillingham, 25, both are from southern California. Police say they arrived in Las Vegas by bus on Tuesday. By the time of the third robbery Police were already looking at them as possible suspects for the first robbery.

Thanks to quick work by the FBI Las Vegas Safe Street Task Force law enforcement knew about the robberies and the suspects. That awareness is being credited with finding the suspects as quickly as they did.

Montalvo and Dillingham are been charged with three counts of Federal Bank Robbery
