Several people from Opportunity Village helped to decorate the new Bacchanal Buffet, currently under construction at Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino.

The workers filled thousands of jars with jelly beans, pasta or other items representing the world cuisines featured in the buffet.  The jars will be placed around the new buffet, which opens September 10.

Friday’s project was just one of several things people from the nonprofit organization do around the resort, including helping with room service and document shredding.

“We have a really good relationship with Opportunity Village. So, little projects like this are good to get everyone involved. It is good for them to work on a project and see the pay off. We are also going to invite them back to enjoy the buffet and see their work and watch other people appreciate it,” Executive Chef of Bacchanal Buffet Scott Green said.

When finished, the new buffet will seat 600 guests and serve more than 500 different dishes throughout the day.

Opportunity Village provides job training, career opportunities and services for mentally disabled and physically challenged people in southern Nevada.
