RiRa Irish Pub Sponsors Golf Class for Shriners Hospitals

 

Registration is now open for the inaugural RiRa Golf Classic to benefit Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The tournament is set for May 31 at Silverstone Golf Club, which is near Grand Teton Drive and Tenaya Way.

The tournament is an 18-hole, four-person modified scramble. Each hole will be sponsored with participants offering beer and other alcoholic beverages during play. There will also be food available at the clubhouse.

Golfers will be able to compete in a variety of categories from longest drive to lowest grossing team.

The event will also include an after party and a silent auction at RiRa, which is an authentic Irish pub located inside The Shoppes at Mandalay Place.

A month-long fundraiser starts this week at Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Easter Seals Nevada will be partnering with the shops and the resort to draw attention to Autism Awareness Month and raise money for the nonprofit.

Money thrown into the fountain and the indoor rainstorm throughout the month of April will be donated to Easter Seals Nevada.

Easter Seals provides services for more than 8,000 Nevadans with disabilities. The nonprofit helps people with special needs become self-sufficient through education, community partnerships and direct services.

Restaurants Pull Out All The Stops to Help Three Square

Three-course meals ranging from $20 to $50 will be offered throughout the valley.

Tao is a well-established restaurant at The Venetian on the Strip that opened in September 2005 and has a nightclub that's reportedly one of the most successful in the country.

Stars from two Las Vegas shows will be hosting a kissing booth of sorts in an effort to raise money for the American Heart Association.

From 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, anyone who buys a ticket to Bodies...The Exhibition at the Luxor will get a dark chocolate Hershey Kiss from one of the stars of Fantasy or Thunder from Down Under.

People who get the kiss will have a chance to win free tickets to either Fantasy or Thunder from Down Under, if their kiss is specially marked.

Bodies...The Exhibition will make a donation to the American Heart Association based on the Thursday's ticket sales.

During February, the exhibition features a 600-pound sculpture of a heart as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a healthy heart.

UNLVino Expands to Four Days

 

One of UNLV’s most prominent fundraising events will expand to four days in 2013.

The 39th annual UNLVino will span four days from April 18-21. Organizers say the wine festival will showcase an array of international beverages including wine, beer and spirits.

UNLVino’s $350 wine-lovers “passport” package – includes admission to all four tastings, a savings of more than $100.

Tickets are on sale now for a benefit performance by performers from all seven Cirque du Soliel shows.

The One Night for One Drop show is set for March 22 at the "O" Theatre at the Bellagio. The performance is an original show featuring artists from each of the seven Cirque du Soliel shows on the Strip.

The show will raise money for One Drop, which is a nonprofit that works to secure clean water for people across the globe. It was created by Cirque du Soliel founder Guy Laliberte.

Tickets On Sale for Superstorm Sandy Food and Wine Fundraiser

 

Some of the best chefs in Las Vegas are stepping forward to raise money for victims of Superstorm Sandy.

Southern Wine and Spirits is hosting The Start Spreadin’ the News food and wine event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. December 9 at the Brooklyn Bridge at New York-New York Hotel & Casino.

It will feature some of the city’s best known chefs. Restaurants and chefs that have been invited to participate include: Mario Batali, Tom Colicchio, Todd English, Bobby Flay, Rao’s, Nobu and Smith & Wollensky.

Wine, craft beers and specialty cocktails will be provided by Southern Wine and Spirits. All the proceeds from the fundraiser will go the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.
