LAS VEGAS (AP) -- The former No. 2 at Las Vegas Sands Corp. is scheduled to be back on the stand Thursday to continue testifying about his former boss, Sheldon Adelson.

William Weidner testified Wednesday that the 79-year-old Sands CEO treated him poorly, sought to silence him, and nearly drove his own company to bankruptcy.

Weidner was president and chief operating officer at Sands in the early 2000s when Richard Suen claims he helped the company enter the Chinese gambling enclave of Macau.

Suen is seeking $328 million in a breach of contract suit.

In one of several direct contradictions of Adelson's earlier testimony, Weidner said Suen had in fact provided valuable help and deserved compensation for his work.

Weidner testified in an earlier trial in 2008, but was still employed by Sands at the time.
