Lineup Announced for Agassi Foundation Benefit

Artists and comedians from across a wide spectrum will highlight this year’s Andre Agassi Foundation for Education benefit.

Michael Bublé, Jimmy Kimmel, Martina McBride, Smokey Robinson and Train will headline the 16th Grand Slam for Children benefit concert Saturday, October 29 at Wynn Las Vegas. The event supports the Foundation’s efforts to transform education and benefits the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy, a tuition-free, K-12 public charter school in Las Vegas.

"It's amazing what can be accomplished when people come together to change lives and make the world a better place for children," Agassi said.

Anyone who thinks they have the chops to outchop Morimoto or Bobby Flay has a chance to prove it at a Food Network casting call.

Season 8 of “The Next Food Network Star” is currently looking for participants. They are looking for people who are “full of life, passionate about cooking, and knowledgeable about food” to attend their open casting call.

Revamped "Name That Tune" Comes to Imperial Palace

 

Music enthusiasts soon will have a new option on the Strip.

“Name That Tune” makes its live debut at Imperial Palace beginning Thursday, August 18. An up-to-date, fast-paced version of the iconic daytime game show, Name That Tune Live! will give 100 participants per show the chance to win thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. With a live DJ, a musical catalog ranging from country to rock n’ roll to Broadway show tunes to Lady Gaga and a set by Emmy Award-winning designer Andy Walmsley, (“American Idol,” “So You Think You Can Dance,” and “The Sing Off,” among others), Name That Tune Live! will be an interactive experience.

Chris Phillips and Marley Taylor of Zowie Bowie will guide the contestants along a musical escapade, including many of the famous games and several new twists to the old format.

TLC celebrity Chef Jamika Pessoa of the hit show “Home Made Simple” will bring her recipes and nutritious cooking tips to the Las Vegas community during a cooking demonstration for the 9th Annual Hoodie Awards, sponsored by Steve Harvey.

The presentation will take place at 9 a.m., Friday, August 12 at Mandalay Bay.

Chef Jamika, host of the popular TLC cooking show “Home Made Simple” and celebrity personal chef, will prepare quick-fix recipes and will showcase her ‘better for you’ meal solutions.

The Hoodie Awards celebrate business leaders, religious establishments and community leaders for their contributions to their neighborhoods.

Casting Crowns to Perform at Henderson Pavilion

The Henderson Pavilion will host a major Christian music act this fall.

Award-winning group Casting Crowns will appear for the first time at the Henderson Pavilion and play new music from their upcoming album at 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 25.

As part of the 40-city Come To The Well Tour, Casting Crowns will be joined by special guests Sanctus Real and The Afters, as well as new artist, Lindsay McCaul. Tickets are $21, $29 and $46, plus service fee, and are on sale now.

Girl Scouts Depart for 19-Day Journey to India

What will you do this summer? Seventeen Girl Scouts departed July 6 for a 19-day journey to India. Before taking off on their international adventure, the girls participated in some local Las Vegas fun with Comedy Magician Mac King and Sumita Beauty.

On Tuesday, July 5, the girls enjoyed some laughter and magic at the Mac King Comedy-Magic Show at Harrah's Las Vegas. King is partnering with the Girl Scouts to help spread his literacy initiative, Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour, overseas. During their visit, King presented the girls with plaid suitcases full of books.  On behalf of Mac King’s Magical Literacy Tour, the girls will distribute the books to children in India during their journey and spread the love of reading overseas.
