Tour bus driver jailed after Vegas Strip pedestrian killed

Authorities say a 66-year-old tour bus driver was jailed on a felony driving under the influence charge after his bus struck and killed a 59-year-old woman in a crosswalk outside a Las Vegas Strip resort.

Police say Gregory Patterson of Las Vegas was arrested following the 6 a.m. Thursday crash at a driveway near The Venetian by officers who suspected he was impaired by "medicinal substances."

Patterson's attorney, Jennifer Lee Ferris, did not immediately respond to messages.

The Clark County coroner didn't immediately identify the woman. Police say she lived in Las Vegas.

A judge ordered Patterson held on $50,000 bail at the Clark County on pending a Feb. 25 hearing at which charges could be filed.
