Police release identity of suspected arsonist at Trump hotel

Police do not believe the fires set at Trump International Hotel were politically motivated.

Officers arrested 28-year-old Roger Fraley who is being held at the Clark County Detention Center and facing charges of arson and burglary.

The incident happened around 4:35 p.m. on Wednesday at 2000 Fashion Show Drive.

Fraley placed paper and towels inside two toasters in an apparent attempt to start a fire in the women's bathroom on the pool deck, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Firefighters with the Clark County Fire Department also found two additional smoking toasters on the 17th floor of the hotel.

While investigators are uncertain of Fraley's exact motive behind the incident at this time, they do not think it was a political attack.

One security officer received minor injuries while attempting to take Fraley into custody, police said.

The fire did not activate the sprinkler system, but it did activate the smoke alarms. A total of 46 fire department personnel responded to the hotel.
