Brown also addresses the issue with his feet after he suffered burns while in a cryotherapy chamber. He would not commit to a date to return to the field for practice, but encouraged the media to stay tuned to see what happens.

‘Clear the Shelters’ happening this Saturday in Las Vegas valley

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Shelters across the Las Vegas valley are participating in the nationwide ‘Clear the Shelters’ initiative this Saturday, Aug. 17.

From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Animal Foundation will have pets available for adoption at its main campus and PetSmart Charities’ Everyday Adoption Center. Adoption fees will be waived for all animals.

City website shows safe walking routes for students

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The city of Las Vegas has created a online tool that can help families find safe routes for their children to walk to and from school.

The updated website launched with the start of the school year and is designed to keep elementary and middle school kids safe.

Firefighters put out blaze before it spreads to church

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A fire that started in a vehicle spread to trees and almost started a church on fire on Tuesday.

The fire in the 5200 block of Smoke Ranch Road was extinguished before it could spread to the church, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue reported.

Man dies three days after car hits him on Spring Mountain near I-15

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Texas man died days after he was hit as he crossed Spring Mountain Road after dark, the Nevada Highway Patrol said Tuesday. The victim was outside the marked crosswalk.

Fred Allen Williams-Harrell Jr, 35, of Irving, Texas, died Aug. 2, three days after he and another man were struck by a 2017 Hyundai Tucson in the eastbound lanes near Interstate 15.

The man’s death is the NHP Southern Command’s 33rd fatal crash resulting in 35 fatalities for 2019.

Both pedestrians were transported to University Medical Center. The condition of the other pedestrian was not available.

Freeway shootout leaves CHP officer, gunman dead

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A driver stopped by police pulled out a rifle and opened fire, killing a California Highway Patrol officer and wounding two others during a shootout on a freeway overpass that left the gunman dead and sent terrified motorists running for cover.

Officer Andrew Moye, Jr., 34, died in the gunfight as dozens of bullets flew late Monday afternoon in Riverside, east of Los Angeles. Two civilians received minor injuries.
